Al Muminun — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Al Muminun mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and your choices. By using the App you agree to this policy.

⚠️ AI Assistant disclaimer: The in-app "Islamic Assistant" is powered by artificial intelligence and can make mistakes — it may produce answers that are incomplete, out of context, misattributed, or simply incorrect. It is not a substitute for a qualified Islamic scholar and does not issue religious rulings (fatwa). Always verify religious matters against the original Quran and Hadith and with knowledgeable scholars.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

If you create an account or sign in with Google, we collect your email address and display name. Authentication is handled by Supabase and, for Google Sign-In, by Google.

Location

With your permission, we access your device location (approximate and/or precise) to calculate accurate prayer times, show the Qibla direction, and find nearby mosques. Location is used to compute times and directions; we do not sell it. You can deny or revoke this permission any time in your device settings.

Islamic Assistant (AI)

When you use the in-app Islamic Assistant, the text of your question is sent to our backend service and to third-party AI model providers (large language models) to generate a grounded answer from the Quran, its tafsir, and Hadith collections. Your questions are processed to produce a response and are not used to personally identify you or to build an advertising profile, and we do not use them to train AI models. Your conversation history is stored locally on your device and can be deleted from within the App at any time.

Advertising

The App shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including your advertising ID) and usage data to serve and measure ads.

Data stored on your device

Preferences, bookmarks, last-read position, prayer/notification settings, zikr counts, assistant conversation history, and similar data are stored locally on your device.

2. How We Use Information

To provide core features: Quran, Hadith, prayer times, Qibla, notifications, the AI assistant, and tracking tools.
To authenticate you and sync your profile.
To generate answers in the Islamic Assistant.
To display and measure ads.
To maintain, secure, and improve the App.

3. Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal information. Data may be processed by the following service providers strictly to operate the App:

Supabase — authentication & profile storage. (Privacy)
Google Sign-In / Google Play services — sign-in & app delivery. (Privacy)
Google AdMob — advertising. (How Google uses data)
Our assistant backend and third-party AI model provider(s) (large language model infrastructure) — process assistant questions to generate answers.

4. AI-Generated Content — Accuracy & Limitations

The Islamic Assistant generates answers using automated AI models. Although it is designed to ground responses in the Quran, its tafsir, and authenticated Hadith, AI systems can and do make mistakes — including inaccurate, incomplete, misattributed, or misleading information, and incorrect Hadith gradings. Answers are provided for general educational and informational purposes only, are not authoritative, and do not constitute a religious ruling (fatwa), legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for verifying any information against the original Quran and Hadith sources and for consulting a qualified scholar before relying on it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content and are not liable for decisions made based on it.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Account data is kept while your account is active. You can clear locally-stored data (including assistant history) from within the App (Settings), and you may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us at the address below. Uninstalling the App removes all locally-stored data from your device.

6. Security

Data transmitted between the App and our services is protected in transit using encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Database access is protected by row-level security policies. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (including authentication, AI, and advertising providers) may process data on servers located in countries other than yours. By using the App you consent to such transfers, which are carried out with appropriate safeguards.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Your Choices

Grant or revoke location and notification permissions in your device settings.
Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.
Delete your assistant conversation history in the App.
Clear app data or request account deletion (see contact below).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
